Digital Hotel Solution

The Mission

Hotel TV systems haven’t kept up. Guests are used to slick, personalised streaming services at home, but when they check into a hotel, they’re hit with clunky menus, bad UX, and zero connection to their own content. On top of that, most hotels struggle to update their systems or offer any sort of consistent experience nespecially across chains or international locations.

Hibox came to us with a clear goal: redefine the hotel room TV experience. They wanted something that felt like a “home away from home” for guests, while also helping hotel staff save time, cut costs, and stay in control.

The Approach

I worked with the team to design a flexible, scalable interface that could adapt to any hotel setup from boutique stays to cruise ships and big global chains. The focus was twofold:

  1. Make the guest experience personal and seamless—like they were using their own streaming service.
  2. Streamline operations for staff from content updates to task management across public screens.

We designed a modular UI system, letting hotels plug in their branding, content, and service options without reinventing the wheel every time. I focused on making the UX clear, snappy, and future-proof, building with flexibility in mind whether they’re using smart TVs, older models with set-top boxes, or cloud hosting.

We also prioritised casting because if a guest can’t watch what they want from their own phone or tablet, the system’s already behind.

What I Did

  • Worked on interface design across in-room TVs, public area screens, and backend management
  • Designed flexible templates that support branding, casting, and multi-language content
  • Created onboarding doucmentation and sales materials
  • Supported the integration planning across various hospitality TV brands and infrastructure setups
  • Worked closely with devs to align functionality with network constraints (LAN, cloud hosting, virtual server setup)

The Result

The new design system makes Hibox feel tailored to each hotel, while staying consistent and reliable. And guests? They can cast their own content, get local info on-screen, and enjoy an experience that doesn’t feel five years behind.

In short: more comfort for guests, more control for staff, and fewer headaches all round.
