Shaping Tomorrow – Temasek Holdings Singapore
Temasek Holdings, Singapore’s state-owned investment company, required a highly strategic and engaging digital platform to communicate their unique market perspective and portfolio insights to both business stakeholders and citizens. The goal was to showcase Singapore’s investment landscape in a way that was both insightful and visually compelling, bringing together market data, portfolio performance, and economic outlook in a seamless online experience. This was a high-priority project for my previous company, and I was part of a small team flown to Singapore for one to two months to work on-site with the client. Given Singapore’s fast-paced work culture, this project required long hours, daily sprints, and real-time approvals, making it an intensive yet rewarding design challenge.

Approach
The project was structured around daily sprint cycles, where we would create specific pages, designs, and templates, then immediately review and refine them with the client and stakeholders. The fast-moving nature of the project meant that agility, communication, and precision were crucial to keeping up with evolving requirements.
While the creative team handled imagery, photo shoots, and conceptual design, and an external graphic design agency produced third-party materials (such as newspaper ads, print content, and event visuals), my focus was on leading the digital execution. This involved:
- Creating the UX strategy and site structure, defining how information would be structured for different audiences.
- Designing templates, wireframes, and final UI designs to ensure consistency across the platform.
- Coordinating with developers (who outnumbered designers at a ratio of eight to one), ensuring that design assets were implemented correctly.
- Managing stakeholder expectations by conducting reviews and aligning feedback in real time.
With so many moving parts and teams working in parallel, I had to ensure that the digital experience aligned seamlessly with the broader creative direction. Near the final stages of the project, I also directed a third-party designer to create handover documentation and manage final design exports to developers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to development.

What I did

The Result
The final Temasek Holdings website successfully streamlined complex investment data into an engaging, visually compelling, and highly structured digital experience. Business stakeholders could easily navigate Temasek’s market insights and portfolio updates, while citizens could engage with Singapore’s investment outlook in a way that was accessible and informative.
The fast-paced, highly collaborative approach ensured that all moving parts—from creative concepting to final digital execution—came together in a seamless and cohesive platform. This project was a massive design and execution challenge, but the outcome was a powerful, future-proof digital experience that reinforced Temasek’s leadership.
